MLB Playoff Betting - ALCS Game 6 Pick

BetOnline.com has odds up for Game 6 of the ALCS tomorrow night and most bettors are shocked, as no one expected the series to continue after the Yankees led late in Game 5. It was almost criminal what the Angels did -- especially to those of us who picked New York -- in rallying late to win. Can they parlay their newfound momentum into a victory in New York?

Los Angeles Angels @ New York Yankees

Saturday, October 24, 8:07 p.m. ET

Joe Saunders (0-0, 2.57) vs Andy Pettitte (1-0, 2.84)

Bet Online.com odds: Angels +161, Yankees -181

To stay alive in the series, the Angels have to capitalize on their strong history versus Andy Pettitte. He went 0-2 against the Angels in the regular season and, while he pitched decently against them already this series, that was on the road. Pettitte actually struggled at home this season, posting a 4.59 ERA and allowing 14 homers. Howie Kendrick and Vladimir Guerrero took him deep last Monday.

Los Angeles' Joe Saunders usually posts pedestrian numbers you can see from any Tom, Dick, Harry and Joseph Fafone in the majors, doing just enough to keep his team in the game. He did everything he could in Game 2, giving the Halos seven innings of two-run ball. However, like Oakland's NFL odds shocker last week, that win may have been an anomaly. Saunders has a 6.28 career ERA against New York and he fell flat on the road this season with a 5.13 ERA and 11 homers allowed in just 87.1 innings. Derek Jeter has a .467 lifteime average against Saunders and went yard off him in Game 2. Alex Rodriguez is even better -- a .500 hitter against Saunders, so he could lay a Gambino Family caliber beatdown on Saunders in Game 6.

Pick the Yankees, as they'll likely give Pettitte enough run support for him to grind out an ugly win.
